It traditionally constitutes the southern end of conventional city. The ghat is located on the confluence of Ganga and Asi. A dip in the river over here is considered very holy especially in the month of Chaitya (March! April) and Magh (Jan/Feb.). Other important occasions are Solar / Lunar eclipse, Ganga Dasshera, Probodhoni Ekadashi, Makar Sankranti etc.
